Notif Blinker has an update in August but I realised I didn’t blog about it until now!
Improvements/Changes made to the latest release (version 0.0809a);
1. Functionalities and Bug fix found in version 0.0802 which includes
- Reminder notification support (New)
- Configuration UI tool (New)
- Fix a bug that causes notification dismissal not detected (Bug fix)
2. Enhanced code to eliminate any remote chance of erratic LED blinking (hopefully). Newer code is now more robust (99.99%
) and efficient now in managing LED blinking according to the status of the notification bubble messages.
3. Added user prompt to quit or continue the run of Notif Blinker when it’s run second time

4. Small enhancement on user interface for the configuration tool.

You can download Notif Blinker v0.3 (build 0809a) from here
Discussion of this utility can be found in this thread or you can simply drop your comment in this blog!

hi. i have downloaded and installed the notif blinker on my i780 but when i click on the notif blinker nothing pops out. Any suggestions?
@ wacky,
notifblinker.exe is the background process that controls the blinking. You won’t expect anything in terms of popup windows. You should run notif blinker config if you want to change the notif blinker setting.
ok thx. by the way how can i check my talk time and data usage? (off topic) i’m new to wm6 thx again
@ wacky, that’s not standard Windows feature. You can use SPB GPRS to track the data usage.
This program is working great for me on the Samsung Epix – the LED blinks as dictated in the settings. One question – can this program also be used to enable vibrate and/or sound on incoming alerts too? The Epix has a problem where no alerts are played for inbound email…
many thanks!
incoming alerts as in Reminders?
if it’s just email notification, you must make sure it’s enabled in Settings > Sounds & Notifications > Notifications (and choose New mail message”
thanks for the reply! The epix has some bugs in it where the phone will not vibrate or blink or play a sound when new emails come in.
Strangely enough, SMS and Calendar Reminders do wake the phone and play sound/vibe but new Emails do not. The notif blinker actually got the LED to flash properly for new emails so I thought maybe if the program can fix the LED blinker for emails, then perhaps it can fix the vibe/sound alerts as well…although whether it is technically possible or not I do not know.
I hear samsung has a fix in the works but that may be many months!
P.S. I still use/love stayunlock!!!
Hi, I just downloaded this to my epix, from mysamsungepix.com,, i followed the directions as said, when i restart it its telling me: An instance of Notif Blinker is running, do you want to quit the instance? Please someone help with this problem… step by step instructions would help..Thanx!!!
My EPIX will not blink the LED for more than 10 seconds. It will stop before the phone goes into standby… before the backlight even goes off. I have installed the latest version of NotifBlinker… it doesn’t help. A lot of people talk about phoneAlarm… but it didn’t help either. I really like the “science” behind the creation of NotifBlinker and was hoping for a miracle, but my EPIX appears to be beyond repair.
@ Jeffrocks626, did you try to run the Notif Blinker from Start > Program after reset? IF so, that explains the message because Notif Blinker automatically runs each time you soft reset your phone.
@Joe, have you soft reset your phone? There’s no reason why your EPIX won’t work if it has been working for other phone. If you have read the message, or dismiss the notification, the LED will stop blinking.
I just started from scratch, re-downloaded your latest version, and then did a soft-reset. The NotifBlinker will not control my EPIX. Do I need to change any settings on the actual phone that will make it obey the NotifBlinker commands? Maybe my EPIX settings are overriding the NotifBlinker?…
I have not read the message or acknowledged the notification in any way.
ZEN THE KING!!! Nevermind!!! It’s working!!!! My EPIX is flashing like a maniacal Blue Christmas tree!!! What helped me changing the LED color, save changes, exit NotifBlinker, then restart.
THANKS for the awesome program!!!
I hope “version 4” adds additional time limit options for the LED (instead of having to edit through the registry). Also, I hope a sound patch is added as well to make the sound notification repeat through standby just like the LED. Thanks again Zen!
@Joe,
glad that it’s working fine with you.
you can actually set the time limit option via the GUI (Start > Programs > Notif Blinker Config) instead of meddling with the registry.
I had planned for a sound feature but at this point previously, but right now, I have no plan for further development work due to lack of time and my current WM device doesn’t suppose LED blinking.
Hi,
i try to install notif blinker to my i780 by copy the files and paste it under program files. But when i clicked the ‘_setup’ it runs under internet explorer and no installation happened. Please tell me where i got it wrong? Btw, appreciate your effort here. Well done and many thanks.
@syah,
do not extract the files in the CAB file, you should transfer the entire CAB file to your i780 as it is, and execute the CAB file itself.
It works. Thanks a million and keep up the good works.
Zen… I know you have said several times that you have no plans for future development of NotifBlinker, but you sure would be a HERO to Samsung EPIX users if you added the sound feature for repeat alerts for missed calls/txt/etc. And if we could control the LED color for different notifications (blue for txt, yellow for call, etc) instead of one color for all. Heck, I’m sure most of us would even pay for it. Anyways, thanks again!
